Roberta Vigilance is the owner of Vigilance Style & Grace, established in 1999.

Ms. Vigilance started as an event planner in the 1990s, planning events for aspiring talents to enter the entertainment business. Prior to planning events, she worked in B2B and B2C sales. Roberta sold her events to companies in her neighborhood and later discovered that the process was called sponsorship when she approached larger corporations.

She overcame challenges such as not knowing the sponsorship lingo and recognizing that sponsorship was not clearly defined. While many planners, business employees, and properties saw sponsorship as charity, Roberta recognized it as a business model built on mutual value—and created repeatable frameworks now used worldwide.

Based on her experience, insight, and desire to help other professionals get funding for events, in 2005 Roberta wrote How To Secure Sponsors Successfully, which was recently updated. She also created a success success metric for sponsorship seekers and sponsors to use to evaluate the success of the sponsorship before and after the submission and approval of the sponsorship. She developed a three-step method using Understanding, Communicating, and Selling for securing sponsors for any type of event, also shared in her book. This method, which allows professionals to approach the process of securing sponsors with clarity and confidence.

Roberta is a vegan, a music lover, enjoys observational comedy, and is the mother of an adult son who oversees events.
